Lou Ann Zelenik, a former chair of the Rutherford County Republican Party and a candidate to replace U.S. Rep. Bart Gordon in Congress, says she supports the opponents of a proposed mosque in Rutherford County.
In a statement released this afternoon, Zelenik says the mosque plan is a threat to a nation’s “Judeo-Christian tenets.” She says American Muslims have not separated themselves from “their evil, radical counterparts” and says that until they “find it in their hearts” to do so, “we are not obligated to open our society to any of them.”
"There are those in our society who bow before the throne of political correctness, as if it itself were the god that would save our coun try. Those people live in a fantasy world that never was and never will be. Those who cower in silence are equally wrong. The People of Rutherford County all need to stand together and say, 'enough is enough.'"
Clearly, this woman is crazy. She couldn't care less about the Constitution of the United States, and she's likely, based on these statements, an outright racist. Everything I've read or hear her say is borderline batshit crazy, and this is no different.
Anyone who votes for her has no common sense.
